Cambodia to Host First Asia-Europe Economic and Business Forum

PHNOM PENH: The Kingdom of Cambodia will host the 1st Asia-Europe Economic and Business Forum 24 November. The forum which will be held virtually is aimed to attract investors and businesses from Asia and Europe. Minister of Commerce, Pan Sosak, says that this forum will give positive impacts to Cambodia. He says it will help promote the image of Cambodia on the international stage. It will also be a time for Cambodia to showcase the investment opportunities that will attract the investors to explore the country.

The Minister has emphasised that Cambodia’s new investment law will surely attract with low labor costs and suitable physical infrastructure. He says the country has a large export market that is under the terms of preferential tariffs and free trade agreements already signed with China and soon with Korea in the near future.

The forum will be attended by member countries from Asia and Europe, including 10 ASEAN countries such as China, India, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Hungary, France, United Kingdom, Russia, Belgium, and Estonia. It will also be attended policy makers, experts, company presidents, business groups and the private sector from Asia and Europe.
